Hypnotherapy
Is a safe and
enjoyable way to change your habits and behaviour, through your
subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy, a therapy that uses hypnosis and
Neuro-Linguistic Programming, is quite simply the most powerful
device to promote healing or personal development and positive
change. Why? Because it utilises the most powerful part of our
creative potential- our imagination .It can re-programme patterns
of behaviour within the subconscious mind, enabling irrational
fears, phobias and negative thoughts to be overcome.
What
is your subconscious mind?
Think of it like the big part of
an iceberg. You can’t see it, but you know it’s there, underneath
the surface. It contains all your memories, your knowledge and
beliefs and it’s your source of creativity. Without being told to,
it also regulates your body maintenance; breathing, hormone balance
and the healing process.
Why use hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a safe way of
connecting with your subconscious mind, to issue new suggestions or
instructions. Using my experience and training, I can tailor these
suggestions precisely to suit your needs-and in this way you can
bring about changes in the way you think and behave that often seem
simply miraculous. There are many myths about hypnosis that give a
misleading impression. The reality is a lot different. You don’t
lose control. You don’t lose awareness of who you are, where you
are and what you are doing. You don’t go under in a sense that you
fall asleep or unconscious; most people remain aware throughout the
session. IN fact, hypnosis is invariably a relaxing and enjoyable
experience. Afterwards, you feel exceptionally calm and
relaxed.
What
is NLP?
Neuro-linguistic programming, or
NLP is both a philosophy and an education. It teaches you how to
think and communicate in more effective ways. It has been described
as “The art and science of communication”. Dr Richard Bandler
invented NLP in the 1970s with his colleague, John Grinder. Since
then it has transformed itself into a phenomenally successful
psychological toolkit that enables you to create greater success,
personal growth and freedom in all aspects of your life. Our
ability to do anything, whether it’s riding a bike, painting a
picture or reading this, depends on how we use our brain and our
body. NLP is like the ‘how to’ manual for the brain. Whether we
want to improve our skills, overcome a fear or become more
confident, NLP has a strategy to help you. One of the most
important attributes of NLP is that it’s entirely pragmatic. In
other words-it works. This is probably the main reason why this
relatively young model has grown so fast in popularity and gained
great respect in the medical, psychotherapeutic and business
fields.
Emotional
Freedom Technique (E.F.T.)
There is a growing field of
dramatically successful therapies emerging known as Meridian Energy
Therapies, they can have acronyms such as TFT and EFT.
How
did it start?
Originated by Roger Callahan, who
wrote the book called Thought Field Therapy (TFT). Callahan was
interested in the Acupuncture meridians and discovered, quite by
chance that tapping with fingers on certain points seemed to
relieve a client of a long-held water phobia. He continued to
experiment and developed TFT. Students of TFT developed many of the
Energy Therapies.
How does it work?
The truth is no one knows exactly
how it works, we just know it does! EFT is based upon the discovery
that imbalances in the body’s energy system can have a profound
effect on a person’s Psychology. Feeling an unwanted negative
emotion causes the energy flow in the body (the meridian) to be
disrupted. Correcting these balances is done by tapping on certain
points on the meridians with two fingers, whilst simultaneously
thinking or feeling the negative emotion. The method is very simple
and can be taught to people to use for themselves.
What
can be treated?
It can be applied to all negative
emotions such as resentment, anger, sadness, guilt, grief and even
depression. It is also effective for treating anxiety disorders
such as panic attacks and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and
even post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
